Assisted Fertility

A number of different assisted conception treatments are available to you, depending on the reasons you aren’t able to conceive. All of them aim to increase your chance of falling pregnant by emulating and assisting the natural process. This can be through increasing the number of sperm that get to where the egg is, or through increasing the number of eggs available for fertilisation, or both.

With all assisted conception techniques, it is important that your cycle is closely monitored to time the procedures accurately.

The main techniques used for assisting fertilisation are:

  • Assisted insemination, also known as IUI (IntraUterine Insemination)
  • Ovulation induction / ovarian stimulation
  • In vitro fertilisation (IVF)
