Dr James Orford – Fertility Specialist, OBGYN

Dr James Orford

A medical graduate of the University of Queensland, James has worked as an IVF fertility specialist since 2000 and is well known on the Sunshine Coast, having completed specialist training at Nambour General Hospital. In 2007, after working with an IVF clinic on the Sunshine Coast he set up Fertility Solutions Sunshine Coast wanting to make a difference for his patients.  

Dr. James Orford currently holds the position of Fertility Solutions Medical Director. James specialises in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and endometriosis. He has spent more than 15 years developing this surgical skill which can increase a woman’s fertility. He also teaches trainee specialists and invites specialists throughout Australia to attend his theatre sessions to learn innovative new techniques.

Dr George Bogiatzis – Fertility Specialist, OBGYN

George, a Queenslander through and through, is a well established Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist on the Sunshine Coast. He completed his studies at the University of Queensland in 1990 and trained at hospitals in Brisbane, Nambour and in the UK. George has been in private practice for over 8 years.

In 2007, after working with an IVF clinic on the Sunshine Coast he set up Fertility Solutions Sunshine Coast wanting to make a difference for his patients. His special interests are infertility, PCO management, pelvic floor and ultrasound.

Ashish Das is an experienced doctor with over 30 years of clinical practice dedicated exclusively to the management of infertility who has been proudly helping couples, single women and the LGBTIQ+ community realise their dream of achieving a family, both in Australia and the UK.

Ashish is a well-respected Fertility Specialist who is experienced in investigating and treating all forms of infertility and operates out of our Monash IVF Brisbane Clinic.  Currently Fertility Solutions is unable to offer genetic testing on embryos (PGT-A or PGT-M), and refers patients to Dr Das in Brisbane for treatment.

Dr Kirsten Morrow – Fertility Specialist, OBGYN

In 2009 Fertility Solutions announced the addition of Obstetrician/Gynaecologist Dr Kirsten Morrow to our team of fertility specialists. Kirsten trained locally in Queensland. She completed part of her training at Nambour General Hospital, where she is well respected for her time as a Senior Registrar.

She offers a full range of services including infertility, gynaecology, obstetrics, colposcopy and laparoscopic surgery.

Kirsten understands that fertility treatment is a very personal issue and listens to your questions and concerns, working together with you to achieve your desire for a family.

Dr Nerida Flannery – Fertility Specialist, OBGYN

Dr Nerida Flannery

Dr. Nerida Flannery is an obstetrician, gynaecologist and fertility specialist practising exclusively at the Buderim Private Hospital.

Nerida is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and was awarded a Masters of Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales in 2015 and is thought to be the only local Fertility Specialist working on the Sunshine Coast with this qualification. She has a special fertility interest in recurrent miscarriage and implantation failure.

Prior to setting up her private practice, Nerida worked as a senior registrar in obstetrics and gynaecology (O&G) at Redcliffe Hospital, following similar senior O&G roles at the Buderim Private Hospital and Nambour General Hospital. She also spent a year as an O&G registrar at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, where she was able to gain experience in high-risk obstetric medicine, as well as urogynaecology, adolescent gynaecology and gynae-oncology.

Nerida brings passion and enthusiasm to her practice. Her experience both as a clinician and a mother of two small children means she is well qualified to offer high quality service and genuine empathy to new families and parents-to-be. Her ability to put her patients at ease through open, clear communication and candid information helps women understand and actively participate in their health and well-being.

Nerida has extensive clinical practice with emergency and elective gynaecological surgery and care of inpatient and outpatient obstetric and gynaecological patients.

During the formative years of her career, Nerida decided to specialise in obstetrics and gynaecology. Raised in Mt Isa, she won a Queensland Health Rural Scholarship to assist with her studies and completed her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery at the University of Queensland in Brisbane in 2002. A strong interest in infertility and reproductive medicine led to her pursuing and attaining her masters degree in recent years.

Nerida has lived, studied and worked on the Sunshine Coast over the past decade. She loves her work and is committed to providing high quality and empathic care for all women, and their families, throughout all the phases of life.

Dr Michelle Proud – Fertility Specialist, Gynaecologist

Dr Michelle Proud

Dr Proud is a gynaecologist and fertility specialist who provides excellence in patient-centered care. With her calm and empathetic nature, she takes time to understand her patients individual needs – providing personalized, inclusive and holistic approaches. Through education and empowering her patients, she ensures they have a better understanding of their bodies and are central to all decision making surrounding their care. 

Michelle grew up in North Queensland and studied medicine at James Cook University. As a junior doctor, she was awarded Townsville Hospital’s prestigious ‘Intern of the Year’. Moving to SE Queensland, she completed her training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology under the tutelage of some of QLD’s laparoscopic and gynaecological surgeons. With this guidance, she developed a special interest in fertility and advanced minimally invasive surgery.

Michelle obtained an appointment at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) as a Staff Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. At SCUH as the lead educator for Registrar and GP education, she regularly performs and teaches complex surgery emphasising the importance of high level surgical skill and achieving the best patient outcomes.

Michelle has undergone additional training in fertility with Sunshine Coast Fertility Solutions and Monash IVF. She was awarded Excellence in a Masters of Reproductive Medicine and Endocrinology. She is a member of Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society, the Australian Pelvic Pain Foundation, as well as the Australian and New Zealand Vulvovaginal Society.

Dr Precious Lusumbami is a Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist with experience and clinical expertise in helping couples and individuals achieve their goal of having a family. She understands the emotional and physical toll involved as patients struggle to have a baby. With her holistic, empathetic, calm and structured approach, Dr Lusumbami performs a comprehensive assessment and provides fertility education to help patients understand fertility and why they are struggling to have a baby.

Dr Lusumbami  will assist with optimising natural fertility in the first instance, as well as manage gynaecological conditions such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and Endometriosis, which negatively impact fertility.
