We would like to inform all patients and visitors who intend to visit our clinic to adhere to the recommendations from the Australian Chief Medical Officer and Department of Health.
If you have recently travelled to mainland China or have had recent direct contact with people who have travelled to mainland China, and who present with fever/flu like symptoms please do not present to our clinic.
The currently (4 February 2020) update from Queensland Health advice includes:
- anyone who has been in contact with any confirmed novel Coronavirus cases must self-isolate for 14 days following exposure;
- travellers who have visited all of mainland China need to self-isolate for 14 days after leaving mainland China (this advice is now expanded from Hubei Province to all mainland China)
Self-isolation means staying at home and not accepting visitors.
Anyone with the below symptoms who has travelled to or through China in the past 14 days should visit a GP immediately:
- Flu-like symptoms such as a cough, sore throat or headache
- Difficulty breathing.
Please call ahead and advise your GP of your symptoms and recent travel before your appointment so they can take necessary precautions.
